Carolyn’s Bio

As a busy wife and mother of two active kids, I often put myself last, as many of us do. I was running in a lot of directions. I started to feel like I wasn’t at my best. I was teaching yoga, group exercise classes, and personal training. I was also a Fitness Nutrition Specialist. So, I was conscious of what I was eating. Six years ago, I was introduced to and tried an elimination diet. I couldn’t believe how much better I felt. Less bloated and my ankles that were always swollen weren’t anymore. I had the energy again that I needed to keep up with my family and work.

I began to become even more interested when my mom was diagnosed with ALS (Lou Gehrig’s disease)

I started asking questions about food and how was it hurting her or helping her? I always got the same response that food wouldn’t have any effect on her diagnosis. When my mom passed away 2 ½ years ago she had four autoimmune diseases. This startled and frightened me. I knew I didn’t want my family to go through what we had witnessed with my mom and the terrible degeneration of the autoimmune diseases.

I began to do research on holistic nutrition. 2 years ago I became a Functional Nutritionist Guide mbg. I fell in love with the idea that food and lifestyle are what can cause or prevent disease. And we have control over 90% of that. I went on to study at the Institute of Integrated Nutrition out of New York and received my Integrated Nutrition Health Coaching Certificate. With my passion to learn and educate myself more, I’ve done more training in hormone health and emotional eating through the Institute of Integrated Nutrition.

It is my passion to help others have the happiest, healthiest life possible. Helping others see that their daily choices do matter and affect their life. We individually have the power to live our best life through education and good choices. I’ll help guide you through lifestyle changes making small shifts to accomplish our big goals.
